They look similar but here are some differences:

1) The Malinois is typically more square, meaning they are actually both around the same height, but the Malinois is shorter in length.

2) The Malinois typically stands on its toes, the GSD on is flat-footed.

3) A Malinois has more energy than a GSD.

4) A GSD is more easily trainable and responds to more training methods; the Malinois has a gentler temperament.

If you are going to look at these two dogs, you would not see any visual difference from them. They exactly look the same. Though they are different on so many way, Malinois and German Shepherd are both good breeds of dogs. They can be trained, they are affectionate, and they know how to follow rules which are good attitudes! If you are planning to own a dog and into bigger type of breed, these two breeds are just great to consider!

Hey Kemsikela.
I’d love some tips on how to train my 5 months old German Shepherd puppy named Zeus . My husband just recently got him and he hasn’t had any training whatsoever.
The only thing he knows for now is his name an he sometimes doesn’t respond to it when I try to train him. He’s also usually too playful during training and doesn’t respond to my efforts.
I’d also like to know how to stop him from jumping and licking my hands everytime I get close to him.
Thank you.
