“Jessica is a fantastic dog trainer as well as an amazing and lovely person. She made Oliver's adjustment to life in the big city absolutely seamless. We couldn't be happier with her work!!” "We were running out of options with our dog who was suffering from separation anxiety. Jessica was able to break down our routine and provide new ways of dealing with the anxieties. We saw improvement immediately. Jessica is thoughtful and insightful and helped all of us through a difficult time. We are so grateful for her creativity and individualized guidance. I recommend her without hesitation. When all other training methods failed us, Jessica saved the day" "Jessica was recommended to me by the vets at Heart of Chelsea and I'm so very glad they did. I started private appointments with Jessica within a couple of weeks of bringing home my labradoodle puppy because, as a first time dog owner, I wanted to start my puppy, Baci, off on the right foot. It was the best decision and I'd recommend Jessica to any dog owner. It amazed me how well she read Baci's signals and how gentle, yet effective, she was in her training methods. I had about 10 appointments with Jessica and also attended some of her group puppy classes for added socialization and basic training. During that time, we worked on basic obedience as well as some of Baci's specific issues - from whining in the morning, to tugging while walking to mouthing/nipping. She is extremely knowledgable and shows true passion for and commitment to what she does. She also instilled confidence in me over the time we worked together - i started off as a very anxious mommy and that has greatly subsided! Her expertise makes her training worth every penny. Im grateful to have found her and will certainly be calling her for any issues that may arise with Baci as he matures into an adult dog. " "Jessica was an extraordinary help with my new puppy Isabella. Throughout the entire training experience Jessica was professional, friendly, helpful, accommodating, positive, calming, knowledgeable, fun... I literally could write her praise all day. Thanks to the lessons, routine, and positive reinforcement that Jessica brought with her, my little puppy Isabella is turning into a well rounded dog. I would happily highly recommend Jessica and Dapper Dog Training to anyone that asks." "We had a series of puppy oriented obedience classes with Jessica, and they were wonderful. Our little girl loved her training, [and] learned how to be a good member of our family. In addition to making really basic commands rock solid (sit, stay, down, etc), Jessica taught us how to stop our little girl from counter surfing, from stealing and eating our shoes, and any number of other naughty puppy things. And, we did all of this exclusively through positive reinforcement -- the training makes your dog WANT to be well behaved, as opposed to being simply scared of the alternative." "My three legged yorkie, named Moishe, has always had aggression problems with other dogs. It was becoming unbearable to go on walks with him. I could tell he was nervous and anxious but didn't know how to help him get over his issues on the sidewalk. He was like this even before the amputation (caused by a mast cell tumor in his left front leg). "This review is for the 5-week puppy class. Jessica and Eric were great, and we had excellent results. We also had a phone session with Jessica early on after adopting our puppy because he was having trouble sleeping separate from us. Jessica walked us through an exercise that ended up solving the problem. Highly recommended." "We have a wonderful 18 month large schnoodle (giant schnauzer and std poodle) who is lots of fun and keeps us laughing however, she had a terrible habit of mouthing and jumping up whenever she met new people or little kids were around. Jessica was able to immediately identify what action had to be taken and to train both us and our children on how to extinguish the behaviour in one session. She is also an engaging and engaged trainer. We really enjoyed our puppy classes and plan on taking continuing to train with Jessica!" "My girlfriend and I each have a dog and the first few meetings of the dogs did not go well. My dog is also very aggressive around food, so we were seriously thinking it would never work out. Jessica worked with us to look for behaviors that each dog demonstrated when they didn't like what the other one was doing. She also helped us to create an environment where both dogs were comfortable and not jealous of each other. Fast forward a few months and the dogs get along great. My dog even lets my girlfriends dog eat out of her bowl...something I had to see to believe. Thank you Jessica. You're the best!!!" |
"Our dog was really struggling with being alone - making a lot of noise and showing some signs of distress, so I researched on the internet and everything I read seemed to indicate that she was suffering from separation anxiety. Following this, we spoke with a trainer who, without any real investigation or testing, confirmed that our dog had separation anxiety. From there, I got lots of advice on how to deal with separation anxiety, ranging from never leaving her alone to putting her on prozac, none of which my husband and I wanted to do. Many of the methods offered were expensive, time consuming and largely ineffective. After several stressful weeks, we got in touch with Jessica. She was incredibly professional from the outset, quick to respond to my initial inquiry, and very thorough in exploring our situation. Before offering an opinion, she ascertained as much information as possible, and then ventured that she did not believe our dog was really suffering from separation anxiety, which is a more severe condition than many people appreciate. "Our English bulldog puppy attended Jessica's socialization classes [at the veterinary hospital]. From the first class on we felt very welcomed and comfortable by and around Jessica. She is a very caring and attentive person. The way she gets around dogs is incredibly gentle and well experienced. Her verbal explanations of the commands followed by a visualization with the dog are very clear and easy to understand. After every class we get well written handouts to go over again at home. We're so happy and confident with Jessica that we asked her to prepare Turbo for his flight back home to Switzerland. You'll know your dog is in good hands choosing Jessica for any training with your dog!" "In our time of need Jessica was a huge help! Our Jack Russell was pushing us and our neighbors to the point of maybe having to move. We contacted Jessica and within 2 sessions the problem was no more and our neighbors thought we got rid of our dog. She makes training fun and works around our hectic schedule. Eric and Jessica are always an email/text/call away and willing to figure out solutions to ongoing issues. Jessica is super knowledgeable, patient, professional and notices the most subtle of details/actions that make training easier and efficient. She has a passion and gift with dogs that makes something that can be difficult and frustrating into something easy and fun. Highly recommend!!!" "Jessica came to us as a recommendation from my veterinarian and I don’t know what we would have done if we never found her. She started working with Logan (my 5 year old lab/hound mix) around three months after we rescued him. In two short months, Jessica has helped us tremendously. Logan came to us with no basic training or socialization skills, and was an overall very nervous dog. He now follows basic commands and is learning how to interact with other dogs. We had spent weeks with Logan howling at us at night until we let him in the bed, and Jessica had him in his own bed within just two nights! Jessica has been an incredible source of knowledge and support for my family and has helped my very nervous dog learn to be happy, which is all I ever wanted for him. I recommend her training wholeheartedly and think every dog needs a Jessica in their life!" “I worked with Jessica for four months with my two puppies, Lila and Sam. My puppies were already 12 and 18 weeks old when I got them and had had no prior training at all. Starting the second day they were in my home, Jessica successfully coached me through all stages of training, including housebreaking, biting, barking, sleeping through the night, and chewing. Her positive reinforcement format was exceedingly effective and worked equally well for two puppies with very different dispositions. "I adopted a white Shepherd, about 2 years old, last summer. She is a wonderful dog who arrived with MANY fears – men, brooms, traffic, the city in general.
